The first set of Creative Europe results for development funding, Single Project and Slate Funding, have just been published with 161 European production companies receiving over €15 million worth of grants to develop fiction, animation and documentary projects with international potential for cinema, television and digital platforms.
Amongst the beneficiaries are five UK companies who were awarded grants totalling €564,295.
The Single Project scheme February deadline attracted 421 applications from across Europe, out of which 87 were selected. The UK submitted 34 applications.
Two UK projects benefited from the scheme, both animations. 1973 Films and the award winning producer Tim Goodchild were successful with their series Hettie Makebelieve, which has already been picked up by CBeebies.
The second grant went to another leading light of British animation, Iain Harvey’s The Illuminated Film Company who received a grant for their project Story Story.
